Miami, Florida is an excellent vacation hot spot year round. It never gets cold, it’s almost always sunny, and there’s unlimited activities and events occurring throughout the year. Miami’s art scene continues to evolve year after year. With the creation of the Wynwood Walls in 2012, Miami’s newest art district has been expanding and attracting more and more visitors each year.
FINDING THE WALLS
Finding Wynwood is as simple as entering it into your GPS. It’ll lead you to the Wynwood District which is full of street murals, art galleries, restaurants, shops, and breweries. The best way to do this is to drive around until the murals become more closely together, then park your car and walk around. The official Wynwood Walls Outdoor Art Museum, is located at 2520 NW 2nd Ave in Miami, FL. You’ll end up finding it sooner or later when you are wander the streets. If you’re really adamant on where these murals can be found- see the Wynwood Map here.
WYNWOOD WALLS HOURS & TOURS
This outdoor exhibit unfortunately does not stay open 24 hours. They open everyday at 10:30am, and close on M-R 11pm, F-S 12am, Su 8pm. And amazingly- it’s free to enter! For all those art enthusiast out there, you can book an official tour through Wynwood Walls on their website.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Many people think the best time to vacation in Florida is in the summer, but the heat can be very intense for most. The best time to visit is actually between November and March- you’ll still think it’s ‘hot’. For die hard art lovers, the beginning of December is the best time for you! This is when the world renown art collection, Art Basel, comes to town. See this year’s dates here. For (electronic) music lovers, the best time for you would be late March, during Miami Music Week. See this year’s MMW dates here. For foodies- August and September is Miami Spice, where world renown chefs serve 3 course meals at discounted prices. See this year’s participating restaurants here! For nature lovers, the beaches are perfect year round, but the Everglades is best in the dry and cooler winter months.
Now for the photos- 🙂
