Florida is known for its warm beautiful beaches and it’s numerous theme parks, but next time you take a trip down there, make sure you take a trip out to the Everglades to see what Florida is really like.
The Everglades is a protected land that takes up most of South Florida. This area is home to two national parks: The Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Reserve. Finding an alligator and taking an airboat ride are always on the top of our of state visitors’ to do list. So naturally, we have a go-to airboat tour company: The Sawgrass Recreational Park.
The tours range from 30 minutes to a few hours depending on your preference. The captains are very knowledgeable about the land and wildlife in the area and are especially good at finding alligators. I’ve never once been on a tour with them and not seen an alligator. And if you’re feeling brave, you can head over to their small sanctuary to hold one after your ride!
Traveling into the Everglades National Park is a must if you’re in the area. The nature and wildlife are one of a kind. Look out for my upcoming Everglades blog to find out more information on it!
